Apple COO Jeff Williams Visits Goertek

On March 24, Apple Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams toured Goertek’s Qingdao facility and later visited the automated speaker production line and precision mold center in Weifang, highlighting Goertek’s advancements in smart manufacturing, green manufacturing, and talent development.
Since partnering with Apple in 2010, Goertek has established deep partnerships in areas such as microphones, speakers, receivers, enclosure parts, and optical modules and the assembly of products including AirPods, AirPods Max, and HomePod.
At the automated speaker production line, Goertek has integrated flexible manufacturing with AI technology, achieving not only high automation rates and UPH (units per hour) but also comprehensive upgrades in informatization and intelligence, including significant improvements in equipment compatibility and rapid changeover capabilities. Key innovations include the Voice Coil Winding Machines enables precision processing of hair-thin enameled wire. In addition, the In-House AI & Machine Learning Algorithms are deployed across the production line for applications such as machine vision inspection and predictive maintenance of spot-welding tips.
Goertek also showcased the vertically integrated manufacturing capabilities in mold manufacturing, injection molding, metal processing, surface treatment, and final assembly. At the mold center, we demonstrated industry-leading precision, particularly in crafting high-gloss surface for AirPods through advanced mold and injection molding synergy. For HomePod parts, Goertek utilizes 80% post-consumer recycled materials without compromising quality, while our independently developed electrode inspection system enables fully automated, remote-controlled testing.
